Christopher "Chris" Basista & Stefanie Sanchez are both running in November's election for Manville Borough Council. There are two (2) seats up for election, which means you can vote for BOTH Christopher & Stefanie.

Being on Borough Council means that Chris & Stefanie will be focused on Manville's issues. They will be working with 4 other Councilmembers and the Mayor.

They will be involved in the business of the Borough, but most importantly, they will be working for the residents of Manville. Here are some of the things that Chris & Stefanie will be doing:

• Addressing the needs of residents, from minor issues such as overgrown landscaping and requesting pothole repairs, to bigger issues involving flooding.
• Hiring qualified staff to fill vacant positions within the Borough. This will involve interviewing prospective employees, ensuring that they have the proper experience & credentials to fill such positions.
• Working on the Borough's budget, keeping Manville taxpayers front-and-center. Taxes are one of the biggest concerns facing Manville residents.
• Working with all departments within the Borough (Public Works, Police, etc.) to ensure that they are serving residents with efficiency and reliability.

This is just a small list. The job is not an easy one, and has its challenges. Chris & Stefanie are ready for the challenge. Especially as of late, where Manville Borough is not functioning efficiently nor effectively.

The Borough is still understaffed, employee retention is a major problem, and most importantly: taxpayers continue to face year-over-year increases to their property taxes.

• Chris Basista is a lifelong, 4th generation Manville resident.

• Holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
• Started his first online marketing business in the year 2000 -- while in High School -- and continues to operate it today.
• Launched an online dance hits radio station in 2008, which was nominated for several music industry awards over the years.
• Founded Manville.Today -- where residents can learn about actions taken at Manville's Council meetings, as well as reporting on community topics of interest, in a non-biased manner.
